Ester Godovská started to play the piano at the age of five under the guidance of MgA. Oriana Šenfeldová. In 1991 she passed the entrance examination at the Janáček´s Conservatory in Ostrava and enrolled in the piano class of MgA. Monika Tugendliebová. In 1997 E. Godovská finished her studies at Ostrava Conservatory, majoring in piano and composition. After graduating from the Ostrava Conservatory E. Godovská studied at the Academy of Music and Drama in Prague, in the piano class of senior lecturer Miroslav Langer. During her studies at the academy she won numerous prizes: The international competition Virtuosi per musica di pianoforte in Ústí nad Labem, the Piano competition of the Janáček´s Conservatory, the international competition Beethoven´s Hradec and the Prize ČHF for the best interpretation of a contemporary composition. E. Godovská has participated in various master courses in Paris, Braunschweig and Baden (Lazar Berman, Eugen Indjic, Ivan Klánský, Peter Toperczer, Paul Badura – Skoda, Christian Zacharias and Vladimir Krainev). In 2001 she received the Award of Bohuslav Martinů during the piano courses in Baden. Ester Godovská has appeared as a soloist several times in Paris, Berlin, Dresden, Braunschweig, Vienna and Prague. Ms. Godovská is a member of the piano trio Ester, which won the 2nd prize and the Award of Bohuslav Martinů at the competition of the Bohuslav Martinů Foundation in 2004. Ester Godovská currently works as a teacher at the Conservatory of Jaroslav Ježek in Prague and as a lecturer at the Academy of Music and Drama in Prague.
